Redwood
The MAPS Redwood Necklace is a powerful symbol of resilience, transformation, and advocacy. Redwoods are the backbone of Found & Found, representing wisdom, endurance, and a connection to something greater than ourselves. These towering giants, some of the oldest and tallest trees on Earth, withstand the harshest conditions and continue to grow, making them a profound metaphor for perseverance. This particular reclaimed redwood carries even deeper meaning—it comes from an organization dedicated to healing and progress, reinforcing the idea that strength and renewal go hand in hand.
This batch of redwood wasn’t simply found in the forest—it was gifted by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), an organization at the forefront of mental health advocacy and MDMA-assisted therapy research for PTSD. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced MAPS to close its Santa Cruz headquarters and shift to a remote model, they generously donated their front office wooden sign to Found & Found. What was once a symbol of groundbreaking work in psychedelic research has now been transformed into something wearable, allowing its mission and history to live on in a new form.
Crafted with precision and care, this redwood necklace is finished with Rubio Monocoat, a plant-based, food-safe oil, ensuring both protection and a smooth, refined texture. Suspended from a durable braided leather cord with an adjustable length of 10 to 20 inches, it offers versatility and comfort for everyday wear. Despite being lightweight at just 4oz, the MAPS Redwood Necklace carries immense historical and symbolic weight, serving as a meaningful artifact for those who value sustainability, advocacy, and personal growth.
The MAPS Redwood Necklace is a historical relic, a movement, and a reflection of transformation. It represents the intersection of nature, science, and healing, making it a perfect piece for those who believe in the power of change. Whether worn as a statement of support, a personal reminder of resilience, or simply as an appreciation of redwood’s natural beauty, this necklace is one that carries a story worth telling.
