About Found & Found

RECONNECTING WITH THE FOREST
The Healing Process of Nature & Craftsmanship
I found myself inspired to start Found & Found after having experienced extreme injustice firsthand in my personal life.Ā
After being falsely incarcerated, I was in need of a healthy and beneficial way to process the experience. Over time, I found my healing through woodwork and craftsmanship.
While I relished in being able to connect with the forest as I worked on construction projects to support my family, I noticed that nature wasnāt always accessible to everyone ā especially to the Indigenous communities that once thrived off the land.
After years of going through my own personal journeys and finding myself through my art, this is what drove me to start Found & Found.Ā
I am passionate about bringing a touch of the forest to everyone and helping others rediscover themselves through the artistry of hand-crafted wooden gems.
This way, you can attune to nature and appreciate the craft wherever you go.
And the process doesnāt just stop there.
Itās also my wish with Found & Found to help Indigenous communities thrive and find their power in a world where the system heavily stigmatizes them.
Iāll soon be offering workshops where you can explore the history and artistry behind your wooden pieces and even get hands-on experience with the crafting process.
Join me in reconnecting with nature, celebrating the beauty of craftsmanship, and striving for social change in our local communities.

Found's Sourcing Practices
-
Wood
I find wood walking through fire worn lands, in the fields of the Pogonip and Ohlone territory, from a tree tagged for removal on the sidewalk, or a local business discarding scraps.
I find the pieces that are left unused from the world around, from fellow crafters and artists, giving them new purpose through my work.
With such an intentional reclamation process, each piece has a story I know intimately, one I am happy to pass along to you. Combining the timeless art of storytelling with my reclamation process allows me to share with you the intimate story behind each piece I create.

Leather
I keep it local using a family owned business whoās been in the game for decades. I have my eye on non-animal leather materials, but havenāt found the right feel yet. If you have any suggestions I am happy to try them out.

With every purchase made
A portion of proceeds goes towards therapy services through The Modern Spirit Organization
Modern Spirit is an organization I wholeheartedly support and where a portion of my proceeds go to. They provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy to Native Americans in the Phoenix/Mesa area, empowering individuals on their healing journeys with accessible mental health care at no cost.
